Albert Mangelsdorff (1928- 2005) became famous all over the world for his trombone playing. For more than 50 years he was present on the jazz scene and influenced German jazz history more than any other musician of his time. In the film Oh horn! Albert Mangelsdorff - trombone (1980) he tells how he discovered jazz for himself, how he found his own artistic form of expression, and how he revolutionized trombone-playing by his multiphonic style of playing.
